Reaction
In this part of the lab we had to use three different substances witch were potato, apple, and chicken. We had to place 2 ml of hydrogen peroxide into three different test tubes, then we had to add the three substances into those 3 different test tubes. We had to watch for the reaction rate and to see witch substance had more catalase in it. Chicken ended up having the most catalase out of the three and had the fastest reaction rate.
How to know if some tissues contain more catalase then others.
We can use this part of the experiment to explain that some tissues contain more catalase than others because they all reacted . You can tell which tissues contain more catalase than others by their reaction rate when we added the 2 ml of hydrogen peroxide. Out of the chicken , apple, and potato the chicken reacted the most and the fastest, so that shows us that chicken contains more catalase than the other two. These tissues reacted less than the liver overall. So in conclusion liver contains the most catalase out of all the substances
